South Steens Copper Mare - Original Artwork

Second in the series from South Steens adventures summer 2024. Copper Mare was found with a gorgeous palomino stallion - whom I've coined Golden Boy. I have not found these two documented or named by herd photographers. Copper Mare we spotted first on a berm above a large waterhole. Even though we were a distance away, I could see her strong, athletic presence. She had some roan patterning over her hind quarters. 

Our encounter was quick, these two were wary of humans. I've infused my memories of that moment to the best of my recollection in this painting. It was important to me she came across as strong yet feminine, infused with a copper glow.
