Horses have an array of expressions and dramatic abilities in their movements. Their energy can be contained, but sometimes it is explosive. These works capture spontaneous mark marking, which I interpret as their energy onto the surface. The abstracted marks create the backgrounds for my drawings, capturing this energy within the form. The result is a mixture of chance and choice as to how the form finds itself woven into the final artwork.
