Zain of the South Steens - Original Art
Zain of the South Steens - Original Art
10" x 10" oil on 1.25" gallery wrap canvas.
The sun is high and the scent of sagebrush in the wind carries across the landscape in the heat of the day. Along a dusty gravel sideroad, I see in the distance a lone Stallion with one mare. He sees me, I can tell by his anxious nature, that he does not see humans often. We spend a few moments acknowledging each other's presence from afar. I am grateful to be able to be a quiet witness, take my notes, quick sketches, and photographs, and then move along to allow the small family to graze in peace.
This painting was juried into The Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts, My Happy Place Small Works Exhibit. June 21-23rd at the Lakewood Center for the Arts

Discover the Essence of Equine Beauty Through Art
As an artist, I have dedicated myself to the subject that inspires me most, the equine form. I am drawn to the lines in a horse’s conformation; fluid, angular, curvaceous and graceful. I aim to transform each horse's unique essence into art
