An Online juried exhibition featuring a range of equine species in an array of mediums, styles and expressions.  My painting, Kiger Run, 20" x 36" oil on Yupo, was selected as one of the top 15 Finalists. Best in Show was a stunning photograph captured at South Steens by photographer Kevin Lee.

I exhibited this painting at Insomnia, but after the show, I brought Kiger Run back into the studio for some reworking. Admittedly, with my studio move in November, I felt I did not have enough time to just sit with this painting.

I made adjustments to the background, adding more contrast. Ultimately, this significantly improved the work. This artwork glows in person. The depth possible working in thin oil layers on Yupo is incredible. Its slick surface also allows for drips and runs, which I can use my squeegees to accelerate and enhance movement in the artwork.

Check out the link to see the rest of the show. A fine collection of Equine Art!!
