Alatheia Fine Art Show and Benefit

I am thrilled to share news from Washington over this past weekend. My painting Kiger Ladies was awarded the Blue Ribbon by artist juror Ned Mueller. I was fortunate to be sent the jurors comments:
"Wonderful concept—very fitting for the show. She really loves her horses, and it shows in the artist's work. If an artist can't be excited about their work, how can we expect others to be? Well drawn, well painted, and all three of her works could have received an award in my opinion."
All three of my artworks sold 🔴 I am thrilled for my host Alatheia Riding Center; it helps them complete their facility. Also happy for the new owners of my work.
Kiger Ladies is one of those works where I showed restraint. I left many of my sketch lines visible and I truly enjoyed this work for it's playful brushwork. I left it where it could easily have been overworked and tightened up. It's a good reminder to myself to step away in the early stages of an artwork, assess and leave be.
