Abstracts

My figurative abstract work involves multi mediums. Cold wax, pastel, charcoal, graphite and more. Sometimes I start with a specific image in mind, sometimes I work from my memory or an idea of the equine form. However this can change during the process. 


I am challenged by working abstractly because sometimes the artist is forced to let go of any or all preconceived ideas of the final artwork to achieve success. This work relies on my design skills and knowledge of value and composition. Sometimes the work arrives through a deeper meaning or has hidden meaning within the artwork.
